I'm taking today off.
It's 12:09 PM and I'm still in my pajamas. Sprawled on the couch. Browsing Pinterest (well, until I had to stop because the overload of cute ideas was just way too much for my one-track packing brain right now!). I felt distinctly ill last night, after a couple days of threatening symptoms, and I decided that was my cue. I've packed like a madwoman for the last week (I'm actually almost done with the whole house!). It's time for a one-day break. I plan to drown myself in knitting, hot chocolate, good books, and rest—and stay away from anything that remotely resembles "packing."*
What are you doing with your Monday?
*Okay, so technically I actually have already packed one box today. But it was just dishes. And it was because my hands needed something to do while I was on the phone!
We watched the new episode of Downton Abbey and it was StressFUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe watched 2/3 of it last night! Excited to watch the rest....
ReplyDeleteBut that was after putting up some sheetrock and painting it behind the fridge. Now I've done more than I should so the rest of the afternoon is resting to get rid of this cold.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan to just rest and relax. I'm cleaning today, but I think it's time for a nap. David is sick which means I'm trying to rest up and stay away from him in hopes that I don't catch whatever he has. I'm ending abx today so he better not give it to me :). I hope you feel better. You deserve a break - packing is rough.
ReplyDeleteI'm having one of those frustrating days where I feel like I've been doing things all day, but I can't list a single one. And I haven't showered yet, and that's completely normal for me, I'm sorry to say.
ReplyDeleteMegan - ugh, no fun! Honestly I never try to stay away from Mahon when he's sick. I tend to get anything that anyone near me has anyway... but he doesn't get sick all that often, so it's usually okay. And thanks! I'm planning to take it pretty easy next week after the move is over! Unpacking is much less stressful... there's no deadline!
ReplyDeleteKatie - I know exactly what you mean! Glad I'm not the only one who has those days.
Please pleaseeee take it easy packing/unpacking/moving/settling in! When we moved from our apt. to our house I ended up in the hospital a week or so later(after having gotten out 2 week prior!!). Stress is KILLER! Not to mention all that manual labor. I don't want to see you in the hospital as a way of celebrating your move. =(
ReplyDeleteI'll be keeping you in my thoughts that all goes as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Yeah, I'm trying!!! I survived it last year (we moved last January), but this time we have exactly 2 weeks to pack and move, which is sort of insane. I'm definitely going to rest up quite a lot next week, though! I really CAN'T end up in the hospital right away since we will have a one-month gap in insurance coverage, so I can't go to clinic or go into the hospital (if I need it, which I'm hoping I don't!!!) until March 1st. Yikes....!
ReplyDeleteI went to work. :-/ But! then I repented and dinked around on Facebook, Pinterest, and Blogger. Next up... I dunno.
ReplyDeleteOh Natalie, glad to hear you saw the light ;)
